Bleakley Platt is pleased to announce that John McGowan has been elected President of the\u00a0<\/span>Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>(AOH). The Rockland County AOH is comprised of four divisions with around 900 members. The Rockland County AOH presents many special events throughout the year, including two signature events, the annual St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade, which is the second largest parade in New York State, and the Emerald Ball. The Ancient Order of Hibernians is the oldest and largest Irish Catholic fraternal organization in the US and traces its roots back to similar organizations that existed in Ireland more than 300 years ago.<\/p>\n

Mr. McGowan<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>is a member of the Firm\u2019s Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining Bleakley Platt, Mr. McGowan served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney with the Rockland County District Attorney\u2019s Office assigned to the Special Victims Unit and an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County. Mr. McGowan began his career with a law firm in Westchester County handling insurance coverage litigation.<\/p>\n

Mr. McGowan is also an adjunct professor at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York, where he teaches undergraduate courses in criminal law and evidence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
