Bleakley Platt Chairman William P. Harrington, who currently serves as chairman of the Westchester County Association, will become chairman of a new regional organization created by the merger of the Westchester County Association and the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation.<\/p>\n

News of the merger was reported on Westfair Online<\/em> in an article titled \u201cGoing regional: Westchester County Association and HVEDC plan merger.\u201d <\/a><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

A strategic partnership had been announced by the two organizations in October, which then led to discussions about a merger. Details of the merger are still in process, as is the name of the organization.<\/p>\n

The combined organizations will have more power to advocate on behalf of businesses and build a stronger business climate throughout the region.<\/p>\n
